Software Engineer’s Blog (“this site”, https://jamongx.com) takes your privacy seriously. This page explains what data is collected and how it is used.

1. Information Collected

This site has no user accounts. Only the following limited information is collected:

Automatically collected: information your browser and device send when visiting (IP address, browser type, device information, visit time, pages accessed), and cookies may be recorded automatically. The site also keeps anonymous, aggregate page-view and visit counters that do not identify individuals.
Information you provide: if you reach out via the contact page, your name, email address, and message content are collected. If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is collected (see section 2).

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is collected — confirmed via a double opt-in email — solely to send you a monthly digest of new posts.

Subscriber email addresses are stored and processed by Brevo, the email service provider this site uses.
Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing immediately stops all future emails.
To have your address removed entirely, use the unsubscribe link or contact the email address in section 12.
Subscription requests are rate-limited for abuse prevention; only a salted hash (never your raw IP or email) is kept temporarily for this purpose and is deleted within 30 days.

3. Cookies

This site may use cookies to improve the user experience and to serve ads. A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser.

You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some site features may not work correctly if cookies are disabled.

This site may display third-party advertising, including Google AdSense.

Third-party ad vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve personalized ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
Google’s use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on your browsing history.

5. Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for visit statistics. GA4 uses cookies and similar technologies to collect usage data such as pages visited, referral sources, and device/browser information. GA4 reports this data in statistical form and may use a pseudonymous client identifier; this site does not use GA4 to identify individuals. Google Analytics does not log or store raw IP addresses. You can opt out of collection with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Third-Party Disclosure

This site does not sell or share your personal information without consent, except where required by law.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Contact inquiries are deleted promptly once the inquiry has been handled. Automatically collected log data is deleted after its retention period for statistics and security purposes.

8. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time, and you can refuse cookies or disable personalized ads. Please use the contact information below for such requests.

10. Children’s Privacy

This site does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14.
